I remember the first picture I ever took that made me feel something. I was on the beach in Nova Scotia and saw some raw, broken down pilings and I absolutely had to take a picture. After days waiting for my prints to come back it was magical when I saw that photo for the first time in my hands. That was over 20 years ago.
My love of photography has never left me. I feel joy right down to my toes when I capture a moment that could seem mundane but isn’t, or that perfect family photo with everyone looking and smiling. My skills are largely self taught after years of chasing my kids, and our dogs, and friends kids, and lugging my camera with me everywhere – because I couldn’t stomach the thought of missing a moment.
I want to capture those memories for you.
As a mother of four, and a former speech therapist, I understand children and people. I rely on my experience with children, to draw out that reluctant child, or engage the saucy one. While I adore photographing children I also love working with a variety of ages, shooting events, and creative work. Milestones are meant to be documented. Occasions to be treasured.
Your experience means everything to me. I want you to love your photographs. My hope is that they will end up on your wall where you can walk past them every day, or sit and admire the faces of your loved ones after they’ve grown and moved away, or remember the way your belly curved under your hand as your baby moved. It’s that connection I crave – that you will be able to reach back in time to that memory always – and it will be something that we created together.
