Repeat photography clients

Watch their family grow!

How long have I photographed this family?

Dallas Couples Maternity Photography

A walk down memory lane! I first met these clients in 2017 when they were expecting their first child – a little girl. Mom had attended a charity auction that I donated a session to and she bid on it knowing she needed photography soon!

We met and hit it off right away and started preparing for their maternity portrait session.

Their first newborn photography session

Soon we had a sweet baby girl to photograph. I remember this baby because she was so easy to work with. Not all babies settle easily but this little girl did. The session was inspired by florals. We also created a fun themed Game of Thrones portrait. Grandma also came for the session and jumped into a couple of frames. Multi-generational newborn sessions are especially wonderful because you are telling the story of the family and that baby’s legacy. This is still one of my favorite newborn photography sessions!

I was so excited to hear that baby brother was on the way!

For this maternity session mom wanted to involve older sister. She also wanted to honor the theme of a rainbow baby – a baby born after loss. So we incorporated these themes into the session along with some favorite colors. We chose dresses from our extensive studio wardrobe. The colors we chose for this family maternity photography session were lavender and purple, blue and teal, and gold. I especially love the coordinating blue colors we used for the family part of the session. I also loved the feminine colors of lavender and purple for mom and daughter. Their last portraits as just a family of three!

Finally it was time for another newborn photography session!

When my client and I spoke about what we would do for the newborn session we wanted to tie in the colors from the maternity session to create continuity. So we definitely had to use some of the same dresses to start. Big sister loved stepping back into her princess dress and mom looked lovely in the same gown she wore for her maternity portraits.

For baby brother’s solo pictures I used a lot of blues and also made sure to incorporate the rainbow theme again. Creams were used for neutral tones with big sister and grandma. All in all the portraits flowed from one session to the other and the resulting album will be a thing of beauty.

Of course baby brother took after his sister and was a dream to work with. He modeled like a pro!

The real beauty of repeat photography clients

It is a tremendous honor and compliment when I have repeat photography clients. Not only is it a way to say they are happy with my work, but I also feel like we have an opportunity to create something really special. As I get to know my clients over time I have the chance to learn their preferences. I feel like I can create a visual story of their lives that connects with who they are because we have a history together. I follow my clients along as their families grow and change. I love that they trust me to tell their story and participate in their lives as a meaningful contributor.
